Unique Anti-Chop Technology Prevents Paintball Breakage
BUFFALO GROVE, IL - FEBRUARY 9, 2006 - Tippmann Sports,
the world-leading manufacturer of paintball markers and
related accessories, has launched the next generation
of Anti-Chop Technology, which virtually eliminates paintball
breakage and jamming. Unlike many existing Anti-Chop mechanisms,
which are essentially spring-loaded bolts, Tippmann's
Anti-Chop Technology is a complete new system consisting
of a rear bolt, front bolt and linkage arm with movements
that are dictated by the location of a paintball in the
chamber prior to firing.
If a paintball is fed correctly, the system's front bolt
and rear bolt travel together - connected by the linkage
arm - to fire the ball. However, if a ball is lodged inside
the chamber incorrectly, the front bolt will stop moving
forward as soon as it makes the slightest contact with
the lodged ball. The rear bolt continues moving forward,
but is momentarily disconnected from the linkage arm until
it hits the marker's air valve. Upon reaching the air
valve, the rear bolt is quickly forced back as it reconnects
to the linkage arm, which pulls the front bolt back into
firing position. While the two bolts are traveling back
together, the lodged ball falls into position and the
marker then cycles itself to discharge the ball at normal
velocity.
"Our new Anti-Chop Technology is the most sophisticated
system of its kind, but to players, it boils down to this
- less broken balls, less jamming and an easier, more
productive day playing paintball," said Denny Tippmann,
Jr., Senior Vice President of Research and Development
for Tippmann Sports. "Plus, because of the way our
system was designed, issues such as loss of velocity and
blowback that can be experienced with other Anti-Chop
systems will not occur with the Tippmann Anti-Chop Technology."
Shot velocity is maintained with Tippmann's new system
because its cycle speed never changes, unlike with spring-loaded
Anti-Chop bolts that stall slightly when encountering
a lodged ball. In addition, "blowback," a sudden
release of trapped air into the hopper that often breaks
paintballs and creates a big mess, is also eliminated
because Tippmann's Anti-Chop Technology maintains consistent
airflow in the marker whether there is a blockage or not.
Tippmann Sports will be introducing its new Anti-Chop
Technology (A.C.T.) on an enhanced 98 Custom marker. The
98 Custom with A.C.T. will also incorporate several other
upgrades including a new receiver that accepts electronics
and a more durable finish. The new marker is expected
to be available in March and will carry an MSRP of $169.
"The 98 Custom is one of the most popular paintball
markers of all time and continues to be a very solid performer
for us," Tippmann added. "So we wanted to maintain
the key components in this marker that so many players
have grown accustomed to, while introducing some new features
to improve upon this tried-and-true classic. We anticipate
stong response to the 98 Custom with A.C.T."
For additional details about Tippmann's new Anti-Chop
Technology or the company's soon to be released 98 Custom
with A.C.T., please call 1-800-533-4831. More specific
information about the company and its products can also
be obtained online at Tippmann's newly redesigned website,
www.tippmann.com.
Proudly celebrating its 20th Anniversary in 2006, Tippmann
Sports is dedicated to quality manufacturing and the pursuit
of cutting edge technology and design. The company serves
the growing paintball and Airsoft industries from its
corporate headquarters in Fort Wayne, IN. Tippmann Sports'
complete line of paintball markers and related accessories
can be found at paintball stores and fields as well as
mass retail and sporting goods outlets throughout the
world.

DraXxuS™
and VForce™ Teams Dominate the PSP Texas Open!
The Paintball Sports Promotions "Texas Open"
was dominated by Teams shooting DraXxuS Paintballs and
VForce Vision masks, as the Philadelphia Americans and
Baltimore Trauma, the only two teams ever to win NXL world
titles, placed first and second at the first NXL event
of 2006. The reigning NXL President's Cup champions, Baltimore
Trauma, took second to an extremely impressive Philadelphia
Americans team, back in top form after winning back-to-back
NXL President's Cup titles in 2003 and 2004.
On their way to an impressive victory in cold, icy conditions
in Round Rock Texas, the Americans played some of their
best Paintball ever, convincingly defeating both the infamous
Russian Legion and legendary Dynasty teams in the same
day. In addition to their $40,000 paycheck, the Philadelphia
Americans earned the respect and admiration of the world
by knocking off the best Teams that Paintball could throw
at them in weather that tested the entire league. In temperatures
that failed to rise above the thirties both Saturday and
Sunday, with icy rain falling intermittently, it was DraXxuS
Inferno paintballs that proved capable of handling the
miserable environment, leaving barrels clean and marking
well for both DraXxuS factory Teams, and Teams sponsored
by other brands who chose to purchase Inferno when their
regular brands failed.
With games played both during icy daytime conditions
and into the frigid nights under lights, the top Teams
in Texas required a clear vision for victory, provided
by VForce Profiler and Profiler SE goggle systems. Worn
by three of the top four Teams at the Texas open, including
the first and second place teams, VForce goggles clearly
proved the best able to handle even the most extreme conditions.
In addition to the Americans and Trauma, DraXxuS Teams
who performed well at the Texas Open included XSV, who
fought to a fourth place finish, an impressive Miami Raiders
Team who made that franchise a feared one for the first
time in years, and Detroit Strange. One of the original
NXL franchises, New York Xtreme, joined the DraXxuS family
just in time for Texas and proved they deserve respect
from even the best Teams. Ron Kilbourne's venerable Bushwackers
Team, after making the switch to VForce masks and DraXxuS
paintballs, played hard in division one competition, while
Gridlock Teams demanded respect in divisions one, two
and three. Tippmann Effect looked impressive in division
two.
The PSP National XBall League will travel to Las Vegas
for their second 2006 event. For more information on the
PSP, visit www.PSPevents.com.
To learn more about DraXxuS paintballs, including the
choices of the professionals, Hellfire and Inferno, visit
www.DraXxuS.com.
VForce Vision is online at www.VForcePaintball.com.
The entire Procaps family, including DraXxuS and VForce,
congratulate the Philadelphia Americans, Baltimore Trauma,
XSV and the rest of the Teams for their amazing performances
in Texas.

PMI
discontinues distribution relationship with Tippmann
Des Plaines, IL. (February 17th, 2006) - Pursuit Marketing
Inc. (PMI), the pioneers of the Sport of Paintball since
its inception in 1982, announced today that it has not
renewed its distribution agreement with Tippmann Sports,
LLC of Fort Wayne, IN. The current agreement expires March
8th, 2006 however PMI will have sufficient inventory of
Tippmann product to sell through the spring season.
Jeff Perlmutter, President of PMI expressed "The
primary reason PMI has made a conscious decision to wind
down their value added marketing and distribution efforts
for Tippmann products was based upon the fact that, without
continued growth in demand for paintball products that
has existed over the past 24 years, there needs to be
increased new product innovation while delivering better
value to consumers and better margins for retailers. This
criteria has not been met for PMI and its customers with
Tippmann products."
PMI is the largest "wholesale only" manufacturer
and distributor with more than 40 top brands of paintball
products including RPS, Pure Energy, Evil, Extreme Rage,
Piranha, Marbalizer, SportShot, Halo, BT Designs, and
most recently PCS Tactical Gear. PMI's product offerings
encompass all categories utilized for the Sport of Paintball,
which includes markers, paintballs, goggle systems, apparel,
air and gas systems.
PMI has seven strategically located distribution facilities
across North America as well as one in England to support
the expanding European market. With PMI's unmatched distribution
network they are able to provide the widest selection
of in stock products for all paintball retailers, commercial
gamefields, mass market and sporting goods retailers throughout
the world.
PMI has and will continue to invest significant resources
in order to deliver the latest technology and product
development advancements. One such PMI product line that
showcases the result of their tireless R & D effort
is the Pursuit Combat Systems (PCS) US*5 semi-automatic
marker with patent pending Advanced Electronic Clip (AEC).
This PCS marker is modeled after the world famous H&K
MP5 machine gun with select fire trigger group. With the
strong consumer interest in military styled markers for
scenario games as well as backyard plinking PMI's PCS
line of products addresses this market segment with the
US*5, the first of a number of highly durable and reliable
military styled paintball markers that incorporate innovative
unique technology and still offer great value to consumers
while offering attractive margins to paintball retailers
who have been faced with significant challenges in 2005.
PMI plans to release a full line of accessories for the
new US*5 including a variety of tactical stocks, various
barrel kits, accessory rail kits and foregrips, all due
to be in stock by spring.

PAINTBALL BUYING GROUP
Announcing the first dealer and field wholesale web-based
ordering system for the conventional paintball base (traditional
fields and stores).
PaintBall Buying Group, Inc. has been formed to rebuild
the connection between the conventional PaintBall dealers,
fields (the conventional base) and the PaintBall manufacturers.
Even as the mass merchant paintball market share has grown,
the conventional market has continued to comprise more
than half of the industry's wholesale business.
The conventional base has been the building block that
the PaintBall industry has grown from and remains the
driving force in all aspects of PaintBall. From the fields,
which provide the outlets for playing and the principle
cultivation of new participants to the stores, which provide
the bulk of service and support for the paintball customer...PaintBall
Buying Group is working to bring that manufacturer focus
and support back to the conventional base.
Interested Dealers, Fields and Manufacturers can go to
PaintBallBuyingGroup.com
and request a membership application. All dealers and
fields will be screened for legitimacy.
What can the PaintBall Buying Group, Inc. do for you? |

NCPA To Host Collegiate
Paintball Finals at
Dallas' Xdrenalin Zone Paintball.
This April, the National Collegiate Paintball Association
and hundreds of student athletes will be headed to Dallas
Texas to participate in the 5th annual Collegiate Paintball
League National Finals.
On April 7th, 2006 students and coaches from across the
nation will descend on the Xdrenalin Zone Paintball Field
located in Grapevine Texas, just and compete for their
Division's respective National Title. For the past two
years the NCPA has hosted Nationals on location at Disney's
Wide World of Sports in Orlando Florida and in conjunction
with PSP's April event. Hosting a large event separate
from the support of a major league has proven to be a
great step forward for the NCPA. As the League has grown
by leaps and bounds over the past five years, there has
been a constant need to find not only large, high profile
venues for events, but venues that are accessible to teams
that are sometimes separated by thousands of miles. Xdrenalin
Zone on the shores of Lake Grapevine located in the Dallas
Metro area and a mere five minute drive from the Dallas/Ft.
Worth International airport has already proven to be an
excellent choice.
X-Box and College Sports Television Network (CSTV) are
on board for another year and will film Class A finals
to be aired on network programming over the summer.
Prelims will commence on Friday April 7th, for Division

REDZ
SPONSORS THE MILLENNIUM SERIES 2006
Medford, NJ -- Redz International, the leader in supplying
high-quality paintball products ergonomically designed
specifically for the sport, has renewed their sponsorship
of the MILLENNIUM SERIES, the largest and most successful
paintball league in Europe. REDZ continues to demonstrate
its unwavering support of world-class paintball by sponsoring
the MILLENNIUM SERIES for a fourth year, and shows its
support for the European Paintball scene which keeps on
growing at an amazing pace.
The Millennium Series represents the true soul of European
tournament paintball and has always been at the forefront
of the modernization of the sport by adding Sup'Air inflatable
fields, utilizing stadiums, implementing astro-turf, as
well as unifying a set of rules to be used at every tournament.
Being a true innovator itself, REDZ feels that the Millennium
Series is a "brother in arms" and deserves the
added support to keep on doing its fabulous job. REDZ
Europe, (www.redzeurope.com) and Paint-Xtreme will have
a combined booth at every event so players and visitors
will have access to the new and amazing 2006 line.
Carmen "The Angry" Borgia had this to say about
the deal: "I've played plenty of tournaments in Europe
during my extensive twelve-year career of tournament paintball.
I've also had the pleasure of winning the Copenhagen,
Denmark tournament with Ground Zero in 2001. I can't stress
enough how we need to promote tournament paintball as
a world-wide sport. In Europe, I've experienced the dedication
of the promoters, passion of the players, and the positive
energy from the spectators. These are all the aspects
that are needed for a successful series. With Redz working
with our European-based distributor, Paint-Xtreme, our
sponsorship of the Millennium Series will allow us to
successfully promote our products throughout Europe even
more."
Lars Herzig of Redz Europe added: "We are very proud
that we are one of the oldest sponsors of the Millennium
Series. We were there five years ago for the players,
we will again be there for the players this year and you
can trust me that we always will be there for all the
players in the future. Stay posted, and watch for a lot
of top European teams using our REDZ gear for the 2006
season."
Redz International is shifting into high gear, arriving
at the next level with a new standard of quality for paintball
equipment. Redz products are designed for the entry-level
player all the way to the seasoned professional, and continually
