COMBAT-X NEW IMPROVED TARGET SYSTEM
BIGGER IS BETTER
With more surface area there are fewer
trips to the target for removing balls. Our dartboard
style target is much more fun to use and can be played
just like a game of darts.
Currently all the other targets on the market are 25%
smaller. This means frequent trips to remove balls from
the target.
The Best The Rest
WE USE ONLY THE BEST MATERIALS AVAILABLE
COMBAT-X ball projectiles are manufactured using only
grade A velcro like material surrounding a rubber core
ball. Using a grade A material with a tighter weave eliminates
the fluffing up effect on the surface area of the ball.
This eliminates jamming in the hopper while feeding, especially
when using gravity fed style hoppers. By using a rubber
core there is no chance of any breakage to the ball. Using
rubber also increases the weight by 10% thus giving better
accuracy when fired from greater distances. Other products
currently on the market use a grade B velcro like ball
covering and use a plastic core ball.
COMBAT-X balls are available in both 68 Cal and 43 Cal
sizes We use bright UV colors adding to the excitement,
giving a tracer bullet effect when used with blacklights.
PRODUCTS NOW AVAILABLE:
A complete line of products are available that are suitable
for both home and indoor paintball field use.
1) Dart board Style Target with 40 balls
2) 100 count ball packs
3) 500 count ball packs (for field use)
4) extra targets
5) target with launcher and 21 balls
6) two player sets
7) ten player sets
8) body armor
9) launcher with 6 shot clip
10) extra clips
11) extra elastic bands
New products are coming soon that will
be available for indoor field use.

Mission Paintball !?
Recently one of my patients I work with gave me the video
game, Mission Paintball from Hasbro. Of course she knows
that I played the game since I often bore her…oops
I mean regal her with my heroic exploits from the field.
I admit that I took the game home and put it aside, on
the box it claims that you can “Turn your TV into
a paintball park”, sure it can (note sarcastic tone
here).
Well there it sat there for a few days when I picked it
up and thought to myself, my two oldest boys are at school
and the baby is taking a nap lets see what this is all
about. I was very surprised it was FUN!!!!
All you need to do is plug in the yellow and white AV
inputs to the front of your TV and away you go, shoot
in your name and it’s off to the field. It is at
heart very similar of the shooter games you play on Playstaion
2 and X-Box but better. You face a seemingly endless supply
of foes as you lay the paint into them. There are even
some that cheat! Really a cheater in paintball, never
happens on the REAL field but they exist here.. There
are some that you must hit more than once to get the kill
(again, not elimination but kill). Then there are the
good players, they actually call themselves out and raise
their gun over their heads.
My only complaint is that the gun, (I refuse to say marker
it is a gun but that is a rant for another day), is in
the shape of a semi, I am a pump guy but that is easy
to look past. There are 8 levels to this game, I am stuck
at the fort right now, but soon I will vanquish my foes
and defend the Great Castle ARRGHHHHH. As far as the “realism”
factor…it’s a video game. You can and will
run out of air and paint. To get more you must shoot at
the “supply” boxes hidden around the fields,
but keep in mind that while you shoot at the boxes the
bad guys are still shooting at you. Your gun will jam
and you must reload every now and again. One of the coolest
features, and remember this is coming from a pump gun
devotee, is that every time you pull the trigger the bolt
on the gun cycles, kinda cool. For us pump lovers though
it can be turned off.
As you progress through the different levels of the
game your gun, hopper and CO2 tanks improve. Trust me
you will need it as the bad guys come faster and faster.
Overall it is a very fun diversion, is it “just
like the real thing”? No, but it is a very enjoyable
game and you older players, like myself, may well appreciate
this, I was not sore the next day at all. Well my finger
was a bit sore. On the plus side there were no lectures
from the wife about how stupid a game it is and aren’t
I getting to old for it also there were no impressive
welts to hide from the previously mentioned wife. Paint
and gas in this game are free so light them up like Christmas
trees if you want to. But without a doubt the two biggest
pluses of the game were the fact that 1) Bathroom breaks
were a lot easier and 2) I was able to play WHILE enjoying
my favorite adult beverage.
With the end of our season, at least on northeast approaching
and Christmas
lists in the works, this is definitely a toy that belongs
on any list. It won’t “turn your TV into a
paintball park”, but it is a fun way to spend a
couple hours and it will keep your reflexes in tournament
shape. Here is an idea, during the dead of winter call
all your paintball buddies over to the house and see who
can get the best score. Now that’s an idea will
make me REAL popular with the paintball widows out there. |

(CPX) Celebrates 5th Anniversary
Challenge Park Xtreme (CPX) Celebrates
5th Anniversary with New Fields, New Paint and New Owners.
Joliet, Illinois, October 10, 2005: Since first opening
in October 2000, Challenge Park Xtreme has been known
as the "Disney Land" of paintball. This 6 million
dollar extreme sports theme park has shattered the mold
of traditional paintball fields. From it's hyper-realistic
playing fields, such as the town of Bedlam, a two-story,
10 block town complete in every detail, and the post-apocalyptic
town of Armageddon, to the themed woods fields and the
fast pace of Netwerks, there's something for everyone.
When the original owner, paintball giant Brass Eagle,
was purchased by K2 Inc. late in 2003, an opportunity
to reshape the park into a family owned business began
to take form. Ray Dagnino, the park's General Manager
since 2001, acquired the business in June 2004 and completed
the purchase of the property and all assets in June 2005.
"I've been involved in this park for over 4 years
now and as I look back on it, a classic song comes to
mind: "What A Long Strange Trip It's Been" says
Dagnino. "Being a working field owner has changed
my perspective. I take my guidance from listening to my
customers, my employees, and industry legends" he
continued. One of the results of that feedback has been
the addition of 2 new fields, Air Ball and Hyper Ball,
both lighted for night play. The park has also brought
new merchandise lines into the Pro Shop and now features
the highly popular Diablo paintballs as it's field paint.
Commenting on this new supply agreement, a Diablo Paintballs
representative said "Having the chance to feature
our product at such a high profile venue really pleases
us and Challenge Park Xtreme's confidence in us reinforces
the fact that Diablo is, and always will be, a ball held
to the strictest standards in the game." Adding new
fields, new products, and new partnerships is part of
the game plan to ensure Challenge Park Xtreme maintains
it's position at the top of the list of Premier parks
in the industry. "It's important to keep pace with
the changing wants and needs of the players. We're constantly
trying to reach out to new customers and regain all of
those who were troubled by our previous corporate image.
Paintball is a dynamic business, the players want us to
be consistent while still being open to change" concluded
Dagnino.
Players are invited to experience CPX's 143 acre extreme
sports park featuring paintball, mountain biking, bmx
biking, skateboarding, and more, Wednesday through Sunday
year round. More info @ www.challengepark.com.

THE OLDEST (IN AGE)
TOURNAMENT PAINTBALL TEAM
IN THE NATION
"Men At Work"
There are over 12 million players involved in playing
Paintball today. Our Sport is growing daily. Our Team
" Men At Work " would like to consider ourselves
as Ambassadors to the sport. We want to represent this
sport in such a way that more people would look at paintball
as a family event, rather then a young man's sport. What
we bring and promote is, Integrity, Honesty, Good Sportsmanship,
Team Work, and Respect. Our team is comprised of men over
the age of 40 who have been playing paintball for quite
sometime and also have kids, and grandkids who are currently
playing. We will be playing in the PSP and NPPL and local
tournaments throuout the year. Our Strategy is much different
then most teams. For one we all realize we are nowhere
near as quick as the younger players therefore we compensate
with other measures. We highly respect the younger teams
and after playing them we also earn their respect. We
take our game seriously and practice every week and are
fortunate enough to have Mr. Paul Richards the asst. coach
of Detroit Strange as our coach. Our team was formed in
November 2004. We played our first local tournament in
March 2005 and placed 4th. I was extremely proud of our
team as everyone gave their best which is all anyone can
ever ask for. Everyone likes to win but our philosophy
is "it's not always about winning" "but
how you play the game" We carry a 10 man roster as
we play both 5 man and 7 man. Our team has come a long
way since our first practice. A few of us was thinking
"boy are we in trouble" but as any new team
starts out it always gets better. In our case maybe a
little longer then the younger players to develop a different
strategy that works for us.
Our home field is Gator Paintball, Hudson Florida and
we usually scrimmage Division ll and sometimes Pro Am
players, and we hold our own on the field. We are Proud
to have Dye, PMI ,Custom Products, Gator Paintball, Crush
Paintball Promotions, Log Cabin Paintball and Break 50
Paintball as our sponsors. We are the oldest (in age)
Tournament Paintball Team in the Country. Our average
age is 50 yrs young. Our youngest player Is 40 and the
oldest player is 55. Now this should be an encouragement
for the grown ups to get out On the field with your kids,
family or friends and enjoy this great sport. Please visit

Disciples of the Watch
merge into Ferrymen Scenario Paintball Team
The team known as the Disciples of the Watch (D.O.T.W.)
has officially announced that the team will disband following
the 2005 paintball season. Due to recent medical, professional,
and personal obligations, a majority of the team has decided
to leave the sport of paintball. Founding members of the
team have met and determined not to allow the remaining
players utilize the Disciples of the Watch name in the
future.
Four of the remaining members of DOTW have spoken with
their sister team "The Ferrymen" and have come
to an arrangement to merge into that organization and
play under the name, Ferrymen Scenario Paintball Team.
Having helped the newer Ferrymen team gain acclaim at
EMR Paintball Park, and having played alongside one another
for a few years, the merger of these two teams seemed
the logical choice for both teams. With the addition of
the remaining DOTW players, the Ferrymen roster will grow
to approximately twenty members.
With the merger of these two teams, a tri-state paintball
coalition has been made with much of the team is trying
to schedule appearances at events in Connecticut, New
Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania as well as a few national
events. Calling EMR Paintball Park in New Milford, Pa.
their home field, you can expect to find a large majority
of the team at every EMR event for the 2006 season.
Arrangements have been made with several current sponsors
of DOTW to continue a great working relationship and sponsor
the Ferrymen. Continuing this earnest endeavor will be:
Flurry Industries, makers of premier paintball gear such
as top-quality packs and vests, Hoo Ahhs field towels,
the best cleaning towels on the market, Hoffman Apparel,
makers of the most comfortable clothing in paintball,
and pending Tippmann Sports, makers of the most reliable
paintball markers in the world.
The members of the Disciples of the Watch would like
to thanks everyone for their generous support over the
years and express a sincere appreciation to all that have
ever helped the team. The remaining members of DOTW would
also like to thank everyone who offered a home to the
teammates and showed an outpouring of support.
Check out the Ferrymen Scenario Paintball Team at www.ferrymenpaintball.com.
If you have questions regarding sponsorship or wish to
sponsor the Ferrymen email the team at sponsorship@ferrymenpaintball.com. |
National Paintball Supply
and BT Paintball Designs
Fight for Players' Right to Choose
(A Joint Press Release from National
Paintball Supply and BT Paintball
Designs)
National Paintball Supply, the World's largest paintball
product supplier, is joining BT Paintball Designs, one
of paintball's leading innovators, in defense of a lawsuit
brought by Tippmann Sports, LLC, which is controlled by
Summit Partners.
"Tippmann Sports' claims are unwarranted,"
said Ben Tippmann, President of BT Paintball Designs.
Among the allegations brought against BT Paintball Designs
is a charge attempting to prevent Ben from using his own
name in connection with BT Paintball Designs' products.
Gino Postorivo, President and CEO of National Paintball
Supply, said "National Paintball Supply supports
BT Paintball Designs and is undeterred by the tactics
employed by Tippmann Sports."
National Paintball Supply and BT Paintball Designs deny
and will defend against Tippmann Sports' charges, which
seek to restrict competition and limit the purchasing
choices of paintball dealers, playing fields and ultimately
players. National Paintball Supply and BT Paintball Designs
anticipate vindication in the lawsuit, and note that already
Tippmann Sports is attempting to dismiss one of the two
patents it originally asserted.
Over the past fifteen years, National Paintball Supply
has sold products from countless manufacturers and believes
BT Paintball Designs' products are some of the very best
to hit the market. BT Paintball Designs currently offers
a very durable, innovative and competitively priced line
of products, including the BT-4 marker and the Apex barrel
system.
